Amber Schonert

Amber Schonert writes like she plays: hard, messy, and all in.

As an international women’s rugby player, she represented South Africa on the international stage and played in the English Premiership. When a long-term injury took her out of the game. She started writing the stories she had always loved — romantasy, fantasy, dark fantasy, and high-stakes epics. Throw in a dragon or a beast and she is game.

She also writes for children. Pushing them to be accepting of their own talents and believe in who they are.

Off the page, she is a tattoo artist and avid painter. The ink and the books come from the same place: a need to make something that lasts.
